Micropayments is the technique of transferring small sums of money from one person or oganisation to another - quickly and without fuss.

Micropayment systems accumulate many micropayments and collect all the money together to form a reasonable sum.

As the micropayments accumulate in each member's account, the balance in the member's account is reduced by the micropayment sum together with the small percentage fee associated with the size of the micropayment.
